The Main Street of Lilydale has been selected by the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects as the site of the inaugural landscape architecture "ideas" competition - STREET 11.

The competition will challenge the traditional views of how we use our streets and towns and provide creative ideas which can be considered in a future streetscape study. These "ideas" will address some of the key issues of Lilydale Main Street, such as how pedestrians, visitors, businesses, cars, cyclists,buses and trains intereact in this space.

To help competition entrants with their designs, we need your views on what Lilydale should look and feel like! What are your aspirations for the Main Street of Lilydale? Your thoughts and opinions may end up being incorporated into the winning design!

At the end of the forum, six double Reading Movie tickets, including Gold Class tickets, will randomly awarded to six lucky forum participants.

Thinking about how you move around Main Street, what can be difficult or even frustrating for you? Is it safe for cars, pedestrians, push bike riders, etc? Is it different at night compared to during the day?

Why do you go to Main Street? Is it where you work, shop, eat or just hang out? Is it a good meeting place for you, your friends and family?
